OLogy Application Privacy Policy

The American Museum of Natural History, located at 200 Central Park West, New York, New York 10024 (also herein referred to as “the Museum”) is committed to protecting the privacy of its OLogy Application users. The purpose of the Museum’s OLogy Application Privacy Policy is to help you understand what information the Museum collects about you when you use the OLogy Application. By using the Ology Application you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy.

Occasionally, the Museum may make changes to this policy. Users of the Museum's OLogy Application should check this document periodically to stay informed of current Museum privacy guidelines relevant to the Ology Application. If the Museum makes changes, we will indicate it to you by changing the date at the bottom of this Privacy Policy, and if the changes are substantial, we may provide you with additional notice such as adding a statement at the top of the OLogy Application home screen. Your use of the Ology Application following the posting of changes to these terms will constitute your acceptance of those changes.

Information Collection and use

The American Museum of Natural History does not collect, use, save, or have access to any personal information relating to an identified or identifiable person (such as name and postal or email address) through the OLogy Application.

Individual settings related to the OLogy Application are not personal and are stored only on your device, and we do not have access to that data.

Surveys

From time to time, the Museum may ask you to participate in surveys. Some surveys may request or collect personal information, which you may choose not to provide. Your participation in these surveys is completely voluntary. We use information obtained from survey responses to improve the experience of users of the OLogy Application. We consider the sharing of personal information in this respect to be within our legitimate interests, as required under applicable Data Protection Laws.

Security
The American Museum of Natural History has implemented appropriate and reasonable physical, technical, and administrative processes and procedures in an effort to reduce the risk of loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, modification or destruction of the personal information under its control, and limits access to personal information to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a business need to know. Though no personal information is collected, used, saved, or accessed through the Ology Application, it may be in the course of a Survey, as described above.”

Third Parties

The Museum may contract with a third-party service provider to host and conduct surveys. Our contracts with such service providers prohibit them from using survey participants' personal information for any purpose other than administering and analyzing the survey.

Children Under 13 Years of Age

The Museum’s OLogy Application does not collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
