Alma Rivera, from the PBS KIDS animated series Alma’s Way, is visiting the American Museum of Natural History on screen this fall.

To celebrate, the Museum, Fred Rogers Productions, and Thirteen invite you to a special screening of these new stories so that your family can experience all the Museum has to offer through the episodes and in person.

Museum President Sean M. Decatur along with Sonia Manzano, creator and executive producer of Alma’s Way, and Ellen Doherty, executive producer of Alma’s Way and chief creative officer of Fred Rogers Productions, will welcome families at noon. Then, enjoy screenings throughout the afternoon as well as activities, featuring educational carts focused on gems and minerals, fossils, and life in the ocean—some of the scientific themes explored in the Alma’s Way stories. Alma herself will make an appearance for photo opportunities.

All screenings feature the following stories and are free with RSVP.

“Museum Day Way”: Alma’s family visits the American Museum of Natural History, and Alma and her brother Junior discover they have different ways of exploring the exhibits.

“My Way: Dinosaurs!”: The My Way short video series spotlight the real kids whose lives and neighborhoods inspire Alma’s Way. Our screening features a quick visit to the American Museum of Natural History with one of our favorite dinosaur fans!

“Bronxorama Diorama”: Inspired by her trip to the American Museum of Natural History, Alma makes a diorama of the Bronx, and her friends want to add all of their favorite neighborhood places.

About Alma’s Way

Alma's Way is an engaging, animated series on PBS KIDS for children ages four to six. The series stars six-year-old Alma Rivera, a proud and confident Puerto Rican girl, who lives in the Bronx with her family and a diverse group of friends and neighbors. In each story, Alma speaks directly to the audience in her “Think-Through” moments, where she learns to think for herself, make decisions, and understand other people’s points of view — while making lots of messy and hilarious mistakes all along the way.

Alma’s Way was created by actor and writer Sonia Manzano, who positively impacted the lives of generations as “Maria” on Sesame Street, breaking new ground as one of the first Latino characters on national television.
