Meteorites are the remnants of planets and asteroids. Many formed some 4.6 billion years ago, before the Sun and planets, as we know them, existed. These ancient samples from other worlds contain a record of our solar system's tumultuous history.
This Special Collection explores the workings of our solar system, how planets and asteroids formed, and how meteorite impacts have altered Earth's history and life on our planet. Contents include a tour of the newly renovated Arthur Ross Hall of Meteorites, Web and book resources, and activities for all ages.
