Kick off the Museum’s World Cup, World Cultures summer series with an all-day, all-ages celebration on Saturday, June 13!

Spend the opening weekend of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ tournament at the Museum for soccer, community, and the science of sport.  

Drop in for performances, explore new sports-themed exhibitions and experiences, and don’t miss our FIFA World Cup 2026™ watch parties on big screens throughout the Museum. The Museum will be open until 9 pm.  

Activities include: 

  • Watch the Qatar vs. Switzerland match at 3 pm and the Brazil vs. Morocco match at 6 pm in the Museum’s Cullman Hall of the Universe, LeFrak Theater, or Global Sports Pavilion in the Futter Gallery. 
  • Explore the science of sports materials in the Global Sports Pavilion, visit the Discovery Room to discover the cultural influence of sports around the world, and join activities in the Human Origins Lab to learn about biomechanics of the human body. 
  • Enjoy performances in the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life that celebrate the cultures of countries competing on June 13.
  • See more than 70 objects that define athletic greatness in the Museum’s new exhibition For the Win: Objects of Sports Excellence.  
  • Test your soccer skills in Goal Zone, an all-ages interactive play space! Additional ticket required.
